As I mentioned in yesterday's post, Mateo went away for a week-long camping trip with his Boy Scout Patrol, The Spartans. They camped at the Boy Scout's Forest Lawn Reservation at Lake Arrowhead.
Here is Mateo and dad before departing. Doesn't he look handsome in his uniform? I'm talking about Mateo, silly. Although that is Horacio's weekend uniform. ...cute.

We drove Mateo to the campsite which is just a 90 minute drive from our house. It is a really nice site. I love the tents. Mateo had a lot of fun at camp and earned some merit badges. I gave him a disposable camera which we have not developed yet. I can't wait to see the pictures he took.
Last week was my mom's 62nd birthday. On the day of her birthday, we took her out to one of our favorite local Chinese restaurants, China Wall, in uptown. But since my sister, Cari, was on a business trip, we got together again on Saturday at our house. Cari baked one of her delectables, a fudge brownie spoon cake.Doesn't it look chocolatey and delicious? It was!
Here is my mom with all of her grandchildren: Andy, Viviana, Alec, Mateo, Luc and Nico.
